When considdering the vertical shading lines, the pose and the nature of this image, it reminds me heavilly of Francis Bacon's famous Pope series.

Anyway, it was unintentional. I started this as a portrait of an old lady, but grew increasingly unsatisfied with how her face was turning out, so I scribbled on top of it and... well, liked it better that way :dead:

Francis Bacon is one of my favorite artists. He's rather important for pushing the envelope on shocking expressive art through the 20th century. So yes, its a good thing.

And you've ended up with an amazing artwork, after the disatisfaction and the scribbling so it all worked out in the end! =P

:) I like Bacon's style quite a bit, too. I asked you whether it was a good thing because I thought that you might be suggesting that I had, well, plagiarized him :).
